Scentsy and our Troops

I have been racking my brain on how I could do something with my Scentsy business that would in some way help our troops who are serving overseas and I have finally decided to jump into the deep end of the pool. Effective today, anyone who makes a purchase on my web page will be entitled to send a "care package" to any military who is serving overseas. This is not limited to Iraq or Afghanistan because I feel that all service personnel who are away from home are contributing to our freedom. I will make an effort to contact everyone who makes an online order and thru Operation Thank You of Oregon, I will send a package and that package will contain at least one Scentsy product. Trust me, I spent six years serving in the military and in many of those places, they can use some help in the fragrance department. New Scent is Tangarine Tango

I recieved my new Scensy scent today and it is Tangerine Tango. I had to laugh, I was setting up my booth for our local fair and I actually had the new scent in the box that it had arrived in; the only thing that I had done was to toss the sample jar into my basket of samples. Well, as luck would have it, two ladies walked up and that was the one she picked up first. She smelled it for a long time and exhaled sharply and said "I could just eat that!" I jokingly confirmed with her that she liked the scent and she promised me that she would be back tomorrow. One of the fun things about being a Scentsy Independent Distributor is the fun that you can have with people. Although I am a new distributor, I can tell that every month is going to be a new adventure. Find your favorite scent

I love to give people 80 Scentsy scents and ask them to find their favorite. It's so much fun to watch people and you never know what they are going to like but watching them go from one to the other to the other really is entertaining. Most of us have had a dog at one time in our life. Do you ever remember when your pooch smelled something that really got their attention? And do you remember how they sniffed and sniffed and you could almost see your pooch dissecting that scent in his brain to identify it. When my customers get a bag full of luscious Scentsy scents, they do the same thing. They uncap the jar, bring it to thier nose as though they were a wine taster, sniff, hold thier breath, inhale, cleanse the nasal passages, then sniff again. Then if they like the scent, they begin to dissect it. Sometimes its easy, sometimes you see this very inquisitive look on thier face. No matter what, it always brings some smiles, some chuccles and some happy memories. What a way to make a living being a Scentsy wickless candle distributor.

How I got Involved with Scentsy

I just thought that you might like to know how I got involved with Scentsy. Perhaps you can relate. I was at our local Strawberry Festival a few months ago and just checking out all the vendors. For some strange reason I enjoy just crowd watching and watching the vendors. I walked past a Scentsy booth and it just didn't catch my eye. As I walk past it my thoughts to myself were that it seemed like a very "girly" product and obviously not something that I would be interested in. I had just about progressed to the next booth and the scent entered my nasal passages and engulfed my brain. I stopped dead in my tracks. I stood there for a few seconds and tried to identify the smell. I must tell you that my senses were so wonderfully intoxicated with pleasant smells that my brain was unable to specifically identify it but I didn't care. I went back to the "girly" booth and found a wickless candle. Not truly a candle but rather a very nice decorative "warmer" with a top container for the scented wax. There are 30 or so beautiful decorative "warmers" and eighty scents. Trust me, there is a scent for any mood. Scentsy also offers plug in wall warmers, car freshners and room sprays. While the scents are what initally hooked me, there are other features that sealed the deal. You see, I am a retired fire captain and paramedic. I can't tell you how many house fires I have been to in my career that were caused by candles. I will spare you the details; I am sure you can imagine the horrific losses. The Scentsy candles are wickless, flame less and totally safe. As a matter of fact, if a child tipped over a "warmer" and spilled the wax on them, it is not hot enough to cause any harm. Scentsy Candles are Safe

As a retired fire captain, I have been to more house fires caused by candles than I care think about. Scentsy Candles are fire safe. Not only are they fire safe, if the melted was spills on a child, they will not be burned. Since they are so safe, they are great for kids. A friend of mine has a teen aged daughter and she is crazy about candles. Well, you can only imagine how much the mom worries about a horrible tragedy.
